I've been reading spiritual material lately. It seems that; if you can mix physics, spirituality and consciousness together in comprehensive sentences, you're now writing about the Universe and/or God. Not enough meat on the bone for me, but I do find this paragraph useful. It's from Deepka Chopra's recent book entitled, "Metahuman: Unleashing your infinite potential."
“Everything, always, everywhere” is the real story of creation. It alone tells us who we are and why we are here. Beyond the narratives provided by any storyteller, whether they are the rabbis of 1000 BCE compiling the Hebrew Bible, the mythologizers of Homer’s Greece, or modern theorists of a gazillion possible universes, something is making creation happen. This something is here and now. It has no story in the conventional sense. It is content, like a choreographer standing off stage, to invisibly invent what the dancing universe is doing."
The "something" that he's referring to isn't a "something" at all; it's a someone. Chopra's conclusion is a sign of the times and I like it. Today, modern people are seriously wondering if a "God" or intelligence of some sort is responsible for creation. Physics has Higgs boson; philosophers have consciousness and/or reality, religions have their doctrines, spirituality can mean anything and atheists say they don't give a damn, so, where to begin?
Start with an open mind. Drop all of your requirements. Forget about Noah's Arc and The Garden of Eden. It doesn't matter what you think. Table the debate over creation vs. evolution, whichever side you're on, and Jesus too.
Continue this process until internal hostilities cease. You'll be ready to receive when your mind is open, clear and calm and your emotions are at rest. That may seem impossible, but it's not. Keep at it: one step at a time.
